Hi there, readers! It’s a new year and we are so excited for all the beautiful work we have ahead of us in 2013. This post is devoted to Elizabeth and Craig, married on New Year’s Eve of 2011. What better time to start a new adventure than on the cusp of a new year? This event was our most involved ever. It challenged us to consider sculpture, construction, and interiors in a way we rarely get an opportunity to do. Elizabeth and Craig gave us an opportunity to completely transform the Lioncrest on Biltmore Estate into a gorgeous modern masterpiece of a party. These incredible photos are by our talented friend Parker J.
The couple picked bright green and purple to decorate their space. The bouquets were made with orchids, calla lilies, mini green hydrangea, and textural accents of pearls and curly sticks.
In the foyer of Lioncrest we installed a sculpture made out of a hand-forged steel armature and real carnations. Guests were able to admire this piece of art from every angle as they climbed the spiral staircase to the ceremony, held on the second floor. We covered every inch of available space with floral and soft candlelight, even the chandeliers. We really loved the look of chic whitewashed vintage elements with live floral and mercury glass. The floating shelves were made special for this event as well.We had fun including special touches throughout the space, from a lovely mantle with family pictures to a candy bar.
Check out these incredible hanging arrangements! Chandeliers are one of our favorite objects to decorate. We can play with color, form, and light in ways we rarely get to experience in vases.
The reception had modern, sculptural arrangements in impressive mercury glass vases. We used phaleonopsis orchids, schwarzwalder calla lilies, and silvery protea. This couple gave us such an incredible and appreciated creative challenge and we couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work with them! We know they had fun and so did their guests!
